Ciao! Recently, one student from the program went to Venice to see the sights and experience the city. As you may or may not already know, Venice is a city with absolutely no cars, everything is done by boat, from buses to hearses, everything. This is something that is pretty cool to experience. There are also a lot of sights to see among the canals of Venice including the Piazza San Marco, and the islands of Morano and Borano.
Just as there are busy roads and residential roads in a big city, there is the same in Venice, just in the form of a canal. Many types of boats run on the canals of Venice, including, of course, the famous Venice gondolas, he didn’t go on one cause he’s not that rich, but some day! And if you look there are many things that can be see from the canals too, like great views of other canals and things you might not expect, like ruins.
There are also two main islands in Venice beside from the main part of the city; the larger, Morano and the smaller, Borano. Morano is closer to the main Venice and is famous for glass blowing most of the time with glass made on the island. Borano is much further from the main part of the city, about an hour by water-bus, and is famous for its houses painted all different colors. There is also a small vineyard on the island. There is wine that is made on Borano from this vineyard.
And of course as with any city, you should always watch the sunset, in Venice it is particularly cool.
Well, there you have it Venice in a nutshell, hope you enjoy the pictures of what was described above!
