World Expo Milano

Every 2-3 Years the world comes together to host an event that brings to light current struggles throughout the world. This year the World Fair (Expo) had a focus sustainable living and feeding the world. Over 130 Countries and International organizations contributed to the expo creating around 96 pavillions. Each pavillion went into detail about which growing, harvesting, and sustainable creations would benefit the crops of the world.

Overall the Expo was an amazing opportunity for the UDM SOA students, we received insight as to how other countries cultures and foods are spread throughout the world. Aside from this it was a huge culture shock to see how other countries express themselves through their food and culture. Architecturally speaking the pavillions did a good job at expressing ideas and forms known in each country, the architects did a great job at creating environments that are reflective of the countries everyday life.

You can look forward to the next World Expo being in Kazakhstan  2017.
